Year 9 MYP Celebration Event – Tuesday 8th July 2025
You are invited to the Year 9 MYP Celebration Event at The Leigh Academy Halley on Tuesday 8th July, between 4.00pm and 4.30pm. This will be an opportunity to talk directly to the students about their service learning, as they display their social action work, as well as an opportunity to celebrate their success and the culmination of their work.
Your child has completed the final stages of their Middle Years Programme (MYP) this academic year. A key element of the curriculum has seen them actively engaging in service learning. In Year 9, students complete service learning through opportunities within the curriculum and through the MYP Community Project. This has been a very exciting opportunity for students to utilise the attributes of an MYP learner to increase their global awareness and become independent learners. Students have been given the ownership to choose a community of personal interest and address a need within their chosen community. In doing so, they have designed social action awareness campaigns in either groups or individually.
For planning purposes, please complete this Google Form if you would like to attend the event. Refreshments will be provided. We look forward to meeting as many of you as possible on Tuesday 8th July.
