Dear Parent/Carer,

At the end of Module 4, the Academy will take part in the second of three Cultural Capital events this academic year. Our Cultural Capital days and week (at the end of the academic year), offer unique opportunities for students to participate in exciting activities in line with National Curriculum guidance.

The Cultural Capital day will take place on Wednesday 25th March. Students in Year 10 will be attending educational visits. Your child will be visiting The Globe Theatre.

The Globe Theatre

Students will partake in a workshop that explains and helps students understand the themes and ideas in one of Shakespeare’s most performed plays. Students will also tour the theatre and explore theatrical skills, developing their confidence in public speaking and performance. Students should arrive at the Academy at 8.25am and will return to the Academy at approximately 2.20pm, depending on the frequency of trains.

Students will travel on public transport using the Transport for London Travel Scheme. All students will depart from the Academy to commence their trip, and will return to the Academy at the end of their trip, so that they can be registered before being dismissed. If this trip returns before the end of the Academy day, students will be dismissed upon arrival.

All students should attend in their normal Academy uniform and are advised to wear appropriate winter travel clothing, suitable for cooler March temperatures. They will also need to bring a packed lunch and students eligible for a Free School Meal will be provided with a packed lunch. Spending money for souvenirs is to be kept to a reasonable amount.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email your child’s small school team

Yours faithfully,

Mrs H. Panton
