We are pleased to inform you that your child has expressed an interest in participating in the The Duke of Edinburgh’s (DofE) Bronze Award.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s (DofE) Award is a nationally recognised programme that encourages young people to develop skills, experience new challenges, and contribute to their community. The Bronze Award is open to students aged 14 and above (by completion date) and is designed to help them grow in confidence, resilience, and independence.

To achieve the Bronze Award, participants are required to complete activities in four sections:

  • Volunteering – Giving service to individuals or the community
  • Physical – Improving in an area of sport, dance, or fitness
  • Skills – Developing a personal interest or practical skill
  • Expedition – Planning, training for, and completing a team overnight expedition

Students will record their progress through an online platform, which tracks their activities and achievements throughout the programme.

The cost to participate in the Bronze Award is £30.50, and includes registration and access to the official DofE platform. This payment ensures your child can fully engage with the programme and log their activities safely and efficiently.

If you would like your child to take part, please provide consent via the Google Form and make the payment of £30.50 via Parent Pay by 31st January 2026. Failure to pay by the deadline may result in your child’s place on this programme being withdrawn. Further details regarding start dates, meetings, and expedition training will follow once registration is confirmed.

We are excited to support your child in this rewarding opportunity and look forward to seeing them develop new skills, make lasting memories, and challenge themselves through The Duke of Edinburgh’s Bronze Award.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s small school

Yours faithfully,
