Throughout the academic year, Leigh Academy Halley runs several residential trips to locations in the United Kingdom and to international cities. Two trips available to Year 7 students this year are a week-long skiing trip to Andorra and a residential trip to the Overstrand Hall adventure camp, in Norfolk.

The Andorra ski trip will take place in the resort of Pal Arinsal, and runs from Saturday 21st to Saturday 28th March 2026. There are a limited number of spaces available on this trip. The ski trip will cost £1,240 and is inclusive of the following:

  • 7 days, 6 nights duration, staying at Hotel Sant Gothard, Pal Arinsal, for 6 nights – full board basis
  • Ski tuition – 4 hrs / 5 days
  • 5-day ski lift pass
  • Skis, boots & helmet rental
  • Return flights, UK & overseas airport transfers, and UK airport assistance
  • Comprehensive winter sports travel Insurance
  • A commemorative free hoody

The total price will be divided into 5 instalments of £220, following an initial non-refundable deposit of £140. This price does not include ski clothing such as jackets, salopettes, gloves, and other clothing needed for this activity. Each instalment, at each stage, is non-refundable

The other trip available for Year 7 students will be held at the end of Module 6. This is a residential trip for Year 7 students to Overstrand Hall in Norfolk, from Monday 13th July to Friday 17th July 2025 as part of our Cultural Capital Week.

Nestled within stunning landscapes, and lush wooded gardens, on the Norfolk coast, Overstrand Hall is home to activities that will challenge students to push their limits and make incredible breakthroughs. Students will have the opportunity to take part in a wide range of activities, such as:

  • Aero Ball
  • Archery
  • Camp Fire
  • Climbing
  • Jacobs Ladder
  • Low Ropes
  • Orienteering
  • Zip Wire

The total price per student is £520 and will be divided into 5 instalments of £80, following an initial non-refundable deposit of £120. Each instalment, at each stage, is non-refundable

Included in this price is:

  • Full board and accommodation
  • Fully comprehensive insurance
  • Full programme of adventure activities
  • Return travel by coach

As both of these exciting residentials are offered as reward trips (due to the trip taking place during term time), your child’s place will be dependent on the criteria detailed below and overleaf being met:

  • Attendance must exceed 95%. Periods of illness caused by Covid or other medical needs may be taken into account.
  • Students must be on target in the majority of subjects and if this is not the case they must be engaged with relevant interventions/homework to move towards their targets. Students who are not reaching their target grade may attend the trip if staff acknowledge that the student is working hard in all their lessons.
  • Students must have a good behaviour record with minimal behaviour points and no severe sanctions such as referrals to The Compass or suspensions. An accumulation of sanctions such as Academy Leadership Team detentions will also result in students not being able to attend the trip.

If you would like your child to attend either of these trips, please visit your ParentPay account to make a deposit payment.

Please do not hesitate to contact the Academy at admin@halley.latrust.org.uk if you have any questions about these trips.

Yours faithfully,

Mrs Hayley Panton | Deputy Head of Turing School
