Dear Parent and Carer,
Year 11 Intervention Sessions
As we begin this crucial academic year, I would like to commend our Year 11 students for the positive start they have made, demonstrating excellent engagement in lessons and commitment to completing homework.
As you are aware, this is an important year for your child, with their GCSE examinations scheduled to take place in May and June 2026. Early preparation will be key to their success, and their Year 10 mock examinations results have provided valuable insights to inform the support we will provide throughout the year.
To ensure all students are fully prepared, we will start weekly intervention sessions beginning Monday 15th September 2025. These sessions are designed to offer targeted support and reinforce key learning areas. Students who attended these sessions last year from September, were those who made more progress and enjoyed more success by their final results.
The intervention schedule is as follows:
Day | Morning (7.45am – 8.15am) | Afternoon (3.10pm – 4.00pm) |
Monday | Geography, Food Technology | Business Studies, French, Spanish |
Tuesday | Geography | Art, Drama, English, Geography, Music, Science |
Thursday | Sport | History, IT, Maths, Sociology |
Friday | History |
In addition to the intervention sessions, we are planning a Year 11 Information Evening on Wednesday 17th September between 5.00pm – 6.00pm to provide families with further details on the support available for your child during this pivotal year.
Finally, we are excited to announce that Positively You, an external company, will deliver workshops to all Year 11 students. These workshops will focus on creating effective revision timetables and will involve sharing successful revision techniques that our past students used. The workshops will take place at the Academy on Wednesday 24th September 2025.
We strongly encourage all students to make the most of these opportunities to ensure they are well-prepared for their upcoming GCSE examinations.
Your active involvement is crucial during this time, and we appreciate your support in ensuring the success of your child. If you have any further questions on any details in this letter do not hesitate to contact me at the Academy or use the respective small school.
Yours sincerely,
Mr Jonathan Kamya | Head of Turing School
