Dear Parents/Carers

Year 11, 12 and 13 Mock Examinations: Monday 2nd March to Friday 20th March 2026

As mentioned in earlier correspondence, all Year 11 and Year 13 students, along with some Year 12 students, will be sitting a second series of mock examinations for this module.

These exams will provide a further opportunity for students to practice exam technique and apply their knowledge to past paper questions. The detailed feedback they receive from their teachers afterwards will be invaluable in supporting their preparation for the final examinations in May/June 2026.

After these mock examinations there will be a Year 11 Parents’ Evening on Wednesday 15th April 2026 where you will have an opportunity to talk to individual teachers about the final preparations for the summer examinations. The timings of the evening will be 3.00pm – 5.00pm.

Please find enclosed the timetable for the mock exams. We will be running these exams in line with the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) regulations to ensure students are practised in exam protocol to meet public examination standards. Throughout the mock examination period, students should continue to come to the Academy everyday as normal. Morning exams will start at 8.30am and 11.30am, and afternoon exams will begin at 2.00pm. Wednesday timings are different. Some afternoon examinations will end after the official Academy day finish time, as will occur in the summer period. All students must arrive on time in the morning to ensure that they are not late for any of the examinations.

All students are expected to come fully prepared to sit their exams, including bringing all writing and specialist equipment. Students are expected to be in full Academy uniform. All examination regulations about mobile phones, watches, and other electronic devices (these are not allowed to be on a student’s person in an exam room), as well as conduct, must be adhered to. Students will be removed from examinations if they fail to follow these rules. Only water in clear bottles, without labels, may be brought to any examination room; if bringing a pencil case, it must be clear.

Finally, we would like to remind you that students should not be taken out of the Academy for any reason during exam periods. Medical or dental appointments should not be made during this time as exams cannot be rescheduled or taken at another time to suit the student. These arrangements are exactly as they would be for all public examinations.

Should you have any further questions or require clarification on any of the details in this letter, please do not hesitate to contact me at the Academy or via email below:
