Uniform reminder and expectations

Dear Parent/Carer,

Uniform reminder and expectations

As we move into the colder winter months, we would like to take this opportunity to remind families of our Academy’s uniform expectations. Maintaining high standards of uniform helps ensure that all students can learn in a calm, safe and professional environment.

With the change in weather, we strongly advise that students wear a coat when travelling to and from the Academy and when choosing to be outside at break or lunchtime. Coats should be plain black and suitable for colder conditions. We currently have a significant number of unclaimed coats in lost property; therefore, we kindly ask that all coats and other clothing items are clearly labelled with your child’s name

We would also like to remind families of the following uniform requirements:

  • Trousers must be cotton or polyester
    • No lycra
    • No jeans or jersey-style trousers
    • No leggings, stretchy, ribbed, flared, or tight-fitting trousers
    • Jogging bottoms or shorts should not be worn under trousers
    • Trousers should be secured at the waist, and students should wear a belt if needed
  • Skirts should be no shorter than knee length, or below the knee, and must be either pleated or tailored pencil
    • No jersey/stretchy/tube skirts
  • Tights can be worn but must be black
    • No socks worn over tights
    • No leg warmers
  • Plain black school shoes
  • Plain black coat
    • No hoodies
    • No tracksuit tops
    • No denim items, including jackets
  • Woollen hats are permitted in the colder months
    • No bandanas
  • A wrist watch and one small stud is allowed to be worn in the lower earlobe. All other jewellery is not permitted

We appreciate your continued support in helping us uphold these high expectations so that all students can thrive within a professional learning environment.

If you have any queries or questions, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s small school.

Yours faithfully,

Ben Russell | Principal
