Dear Parent/Carer,
An exciting opportunity has arisen for our Key Stage 3 cohort to see the production of “Dear England” on Friday 27th January 2026, at the New Wimbledon Theatre, 93 The Broadway, London SW19 1QG.
The MYP encourages students to see a range of live theatrical performances so they can confidently analyse play scripts and live theatre productions. The National Theatre’s Olivier Award-winning play, Dear England, tells the uplifting, at times heartbreaking and ultimately inspiring story of Gareth Southgate’s revolutionary tenure as England manager.
As this theatre show is an evening performance, we will meet at the Academy at Kidbrooke Station at 5pm sharp, and travel to the theatre by train. The theatre is a short walk from Wimbledon Station. The performance begins promptly at 7:30pm and lasts approximately 2 hours and 50 minutes, including a 15-minute interval. We anticipate returning to the Academy at approximately 11:30pm. Due to the timings of this trip, students must be collected from the Kidbrooke Station. Please indicate on the Google Form the name of the adult who will collect your child from Kidbrooke Station, at the end of the trip.
The cost of this trip is £6 which covers travel to and from Kidbrooke Station. The cost of the theatre tickets has been generously funded by The Tallow Chandler’s Livery Company. To secure a place for your child, please make a payment of £6 via ParentPay. Tickets will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. If your child would like to bring some additional funds to purchase a snack/beverage during the interval, please ensure they have this with them on the day, being mindful that the theatre accepts cards only.
Yours faithfully,
Mrs H. Panton
Deputy Head of Turing School
