Dear Parent/Carer
Half Term Homework – Year 10
As we approach the upcoming break, we take the opportunity to reflect on the dedication and commitment shown by our Year 10 students, and the effort they have invested in their studies throughout this module. The half-term break is certainly a well-earned opportunity for rest and rejuvenation. However, it also provides valuable time for students to consolidate their learning and to continue preparing for Module 4.
All students have been set compulsory homework tasks in each subject to complete over the break. These tasks, which support both ongoing learning and mock exam preparation, have been posted on their Google Classrooms and are outlined below. We encourage students to complete the work gradually across the holiday, and we kindly ask for your support in reinforcing the importance of engaging fully with these assignments.
| English | Sparx Reader (1 hour a week) and a Seneca assignment focused on A Christmas Carol |
| Maths | Consolidation tasks from Modules 1 and 2 set on Sparx Maths |
| Science | Consolidation tasks from Modules 1 and 2 set on Sparx Science |
| History | Seneca assignment on The Industrial Revolution |
| Geography | Consolidation tasks from Modules 1 and 2 set on Seneca |
| RE | Research task focused on Sikhism |
| Languages | Languagenut tasks to reinforce verbs in the past tense and adjectival agreements |

All Year 10 students also have access to their Knowledge Organiser Google Classroom and this platform has links to all of the knowledge organisers for this module. These overviews provide insight into the topics and key concepts that the students have been learning in each of their subjects for the module. If your child has not joined this classroom, this can be accessed on Google Classroom by using the code: lysdz7pu.
