Dear Parent/Carer,
Easter Holiday Homework – Year 8
As we near the upcoming holiday, we would like to recognise the hard work and dedication shown by our Year 8 students over the past module. The consistent effort and positive approach towards their subjects has been truly impressive both within and outside of lessons. We place great importance on homework as a valuable part of your child’s learning. Research from the Education Endowment Foundation shows that regular, purposeful homework can lead to significant progress, with students typically making at least 5 months of additional progress over the course of a year when homework is completed. This is because it helps to reinforce classroom learning, develop independent study skills and build confidence.
All students have been assigned compulsory holiday homework in each subject area. These tasks have been uploaded to their respective Google Classrooms and are detailed below. Students are expected to complete the work in a structured and timely manner over the course of the break. We would greatly appreciate your continued support in reinforcing the importance of fulfilling these academic responsibilities.
| English | Sparx Reader for at least an hour per week |
| Maths | Consolidation tasks from Modules 1-4 set on Sparx Maths |
