Dear Parent/Carer,

Donations to Emmaus Charity (Homelessness) & Queen Elizabeth Hospital

We are reaching out to ask for your support in two important initiatives that will benefit two local charities and the wider community. These efforts align with our commitment to fostering a sense of service, responsibility, and compassion in our students.

Donations for Emmaus Charity (Homelessness)
We are collecting non-perishable food items to support Emmaus Charity, an organisation that provides essential services to people experiencing homelessness. We are inviting students in Years 7 to 13 to participate by donating the following items:

  • Canned foods (e.g., vegetables, beans, soups)
  • Rice and pasta
  • Breakfast cereals
  • Biscuits and snacks
  • Tea, coffee, and long-life milk
  • Tinned fruit and desserts
  • Other non-perishable food items

Donations can be brought to the Academy by your child and placed in the designated boxes in your child’s small school. The collection will run until Friday 12th December 2025.

Donations of Toys for Queen Elizabeth Hospital
We are also collecting new or nearly new used toys for children at Queen Elizabeth Hospital. This initiative is part of our MYP Community and Engagement activity and aims to bring some comfort and joy to young patients. We are inviting Year 8 students to contribute toys suitable for a range of ages. These can include:

  • Soft toys (new or as good as new)
  • Books, puzzles, or board games
  • Educational toys and arts and crafts supplies
  • Small toys suitable for hospital settings

The donation boxes will be set up for collection in the Year 8 English classes, and donations will be accepted until Friday 12th December 2025.

These charitable actions offer our students an opportunity to connect with the community and make a positive impact on those in need. We are incredibly proud of our student’s efforts and the spirit of service they continue to demonstrate. Your support in these initiatives would be greatly appreciated and will help make a real difference to those who benefit from these donations.

Thank you for your generosity and continued support of our school community. If you have any questions or would like further information, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s small school.

Yours faithfully,

Mrs Nguyen-Quan | Deputy Head of Turing School
