Dear Parent/Carer,
Years 11 and 13 Mock Examinations – Monday 1st December to Wednesday 17th December 2025
Years 11 and 13 will sit a series of mock examinations in December 2025. This enables students to show the progress they have made since their last mock examinations. The feedback students will receive from their teachers after these mock examinations will be invaluable in helping them prepare for their final examinations in May / June 2026.
We will be running these mock examinations in line with the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) regulations to ensure students are practised in examination protocols to meet public examination standards. Enclosed are the mock examination timetables. Throughout the mock examination period, students should arrive at the Academy as normal. Morning examinations will start at 8.30am and 11.30am, and afternoon examinations will begin at 2.00pm. Some afternoon examinations will end after the usual Academy day, as will occur in the summer 2026 examinations. It is imperative that all students arrive on time in the morning to ensure that they are seated in time and are not late for their examinations.
All students are expected to come fully prepared, including bringing all writing and specialist equipment and are expected to be in full Academy uniform. All examination regulations regarding mobile phones, watches, and other electronic devices (these are not allowed to be on a student’s person in an examination room) and code of conduct must be adhered to. Water must be brought in clear bottles without labels, and may be brought to any examination room. Pencil cases must be clear so that items contained within them can be seen. Students will be removed from examinations if they fail to follow the rules.
Finally, we would like to remind you that students should not be taken out of the Academy for any reason during examination periods. Medical or dental appointments should not be made during this time as examinations cannot be rescheduled, or taken at another time to suit the student. These arrangements are exactly as they would be for a public examination such as a GCSE, BTEC, IB or T Level. Should you have any further questions or require clarification on any of the details in this letter, please do not hesitate to contact me at the Academy or use the respective small school contact email detailed below:
