Year 12 and 13 IB Visual Arts National Portrait Gallery Masterclass Workshop – Friday 27th February 2026
The IB Visual Arts students have been invited to take part in a drawing and painting masterclass on Friday 27th February 2026, inspired by the exhibition Lucian Freud: Drawing into Painting. As part of the IB Visual Arts course, students are required to build a body of work and then curate an exhibition. This trip provides students with the opportunity to expand their research, skills and understanding of the processes involved in designing an exhibition. There is no cost for this trip.
Students will depart the Academy at 8.30am and walk to Kidbrooke station where we will take the train to Charing Cross Station and complete the short walk to The National Portrait Gallery. We aim to arrive back at the Academy by 3.45pm, where students will be dismissed.
Students must wear business dress and bring a packed lunch. Those students entitled to free school meals will receive a packed lunch.
